Not to argue merits, but a filibuster only exists when it delays or postpones a vote. Cruz' actions did not constitute a filibuster. The vote went ahead as scheduled.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, Alabama, deserves mention as well.

Quire a douchebag hall of fame. Let's go ahead and argue the merits.

Bet you hate Obamacare but like some of the points of the Affordable Care Act.

Left and lefter with those two links BD.

I certainly do not have the answer to the Gordian Knot that is health care, but creating a more heavily bureaucratized structure that removes decision making further from the first degree of separation between you and your doc is tying that Knot tighter. We have just begun having endless debates on this subject, as now the issue is heavily politicized (forever tied down with the legacy of the disgraceful manner with which the bill was passed). If there is discontent with Affordable Care Act (what a ironic title, like a poorly named military operation) now, just wait until it's the 'gubment that didn't give Grandma, you or me their operation or pills. This discontent will grow as it becomes apparent to all in a few years who really calls the shots in the examining room and we have the inevitable stories of incompetence and lack of care that are now mostly reserved for the evil insurance companies.

I don't know if there is an easy way to get the numbers, but I would like to see a graph on the number of retirements of health care pros over the past few years to see if the anecdotal evidence I see is comfirmed- that they are retiring in droves. It is easier to see the numbers regarding part time workers companies are hiring instead of full time, and that is but one unintended consequence so far. I'm afraid that the road ahead is paved with good intentions.

Single payer - it's the inevitable direction.

If you think health care is expensive now, wait till it's free.
